Based on the BU principle, add a pseudo coprocessor monkey_asic to BOINC config file and convert the NCI-applications into ASIC plan class applications with a minimum CPU consumption.

In parallel, you can run full CPU versions of applications without the ASIC requirement

<cc_config>
<options>
<coproc>
<type>monkey_v1</type>
<count>1</count>
<non_gpu/>
</coproc>
. . .
<coproc>
<type>monkey_v4</type>
<count>1</count>
<non_gpu/>
</coproc>
</options>
</cc_config>

<app_version>
<app_name>monkeys_v1</app_name>
<avg_ncpus>0.0100000</avg_ncpus>
<max_ncpus>0.0100000</max_ncpus>
<plan_class>monkey_asic</plan_class>
<coproc>
<type>monkey_v1</type>
<count>1.000000</count>
</coproc>
<dont_throttle/>
</app_version>

PS. If desired, the monkey co-processors may have several pieces each

I had considered offering a similar suggestion a couple of weeks ago.
Set up a second CPU only project, call it Monkeys@home.....

If I split it it will be not Monkeys@home, but somethink like that:
- GoofyxGrid.NCI@home
- GoofyxGrid.CPU@home

- GoofyxGrid@home NCI
- GoofyxGrid@home CPU

GoofyxGrid@home - (tm), brand, it is better not to change

CSG - a bad example, an administrative division of responsibility for subprojects

A few other examples

1. 2 servers
http://quakecatcher.net/sensor/
http://quakecatcher.net/continual/

2. CAS@home - 2 scheduler, for each of subprojects

You can test the new version of the server, which is now run all new projects.
It seems there is a completely pre-built virtual machine.

Start the new server as a project for the CPU tasks and try to add a NCI tasks. If it does not work - leave it only for the CPU

Another note
In other projects, too, there are problems with NCI tasks.
For example quakecatcher.net often can not connect to the database, it returns a "bad" answer without NCI status and all Windows clent transferred to the CPU-task mode

At this moment I am testing 32 core.

can we get something to test?
we still only gets a stir every time when you try to run the tests :o)

PS something = WU for Win & Linux on x86

Have you considered just kicking the server? It worked for Chief O'Brien in Star Trek DS9... You've tried everything else... 😁

Yes I am thinking about it, but ... it's good that I didn't do it because monkeys_v4 start to work :)

It seems the server is still necessary to kick ;-)

Stopped working results validation

And in the download folder is not Monkeys v3 binary version 3.00 for Linux 32-bit, only monkeys_v3_200_i686-pc-linux-gnu

[edit] perhaps it instead of the "daily quota"

It is perhaps worth mentioning that when you set your preferences to accept only v4 (and accept other applications when there is no work for v4) that you will get nothing at all upon update project, and later on only v1.

if you allow the option "accept other applications" that you get all active apps regardless of the availability tasks for version 4

the first request (no tasks - to get work from the project) - receive only one task
the second request (not need tasks - request by project (15min) or manually) - get all other tasks

Hands added lost task v4, result was validated

So that the whole system works, fails in only one place - sending to client task created for him
11) Message boards : Number crunching : What's up with v4? (Message 1511)
Posted 16 Feb 2017 by Sergey Kovalchuk
There are two versions of server requests

1. Not at all tasks - request of new tasks - receiving only one task (usually v1)

2. There is at least one task - no tasks request (NCI project) - receiving missing versions of tasks

Perhaps in second version of reply scheduler forget to check v4 (error while adding v1 L7)

You can try to select a profile limitation "only v4" and try to get a task by first version of the query

Work is created, the input files are present in the download folder on server.
But task does not appear in scheduler reply and client logs
(It is difficult to catch the scheduler reply immediately after the issuance of task)
In scheduler request a list of client tasks w/o v4, but "lost" task is not re-sent

DrugDiscovery@Home had a similar problem - "Smina for mol2" task allocated to host, but does not really sent (link)

The server is a problem, something went wrong

Tasks in progress (by version) - 26k / 24k / 24k / 180k / 0

Version 4 is increased rapidly

Each time the client connects to the server it is allocated the task v4 but it really is not sent to host

The project has the possibility to specify in the settings "Run only the selected applications" in the profile preferences

But there is one feature of the "work from other applications" option

Projects usually sends other tasks only when there are no tasks for selected applications.

This project (as NCI) always sends a task unless it is explicitly prohibited in the settings. Ie option "work from other applications" overrides any selection of applications

Disable this option in their own settings, and you will receive only selected applications

@Goofyx - I noticed the new version "L7" of the application "v1" but there are no tasks for him. When will they appear?

I have two versions of all the libraries needed for other projects. I can not just install the 32b version curl on 64b Ubuntu (for libcurl.so.4)

"Living" example - host 2813\r\n\r\nOther hosts I had to reset (detach / attach from the project). \r\nIt's a time solve the problem - until a new download 32 bit task

There is a cc_config.xml option that is designed exactly to do that. <no_alt_platform>
\r\n\r\nThank, but this is a global option for all projects. I need alt_platform for other projects in the client. \r\nProblem only with monkeys - I could not install both versions 32/64 Curl to Ubuntu 64 bit host

Is it possible to somehow block the reception of the 32-bit tasks on a 64-bit linux host? \r\nThese tasks cause an error (mismatching version libcurl) and very quickly "eat" the daily quota.
