Oh, that's cute. Guy has 100 CPU cores, that means his opinion weighs more than ours. :)

You are the one who is acting immature, and with that condescending tone you aren't going to get your point across. So instead of bitching about not bitching about anything, keep your mouth shut and let those who are concerned express their worries.

I am interested in this project and so I have spent much time on studying and preparing scripts which allow me to fully automate the creation, attachment, and BoincTasks administration of up to 240 simultaneous clients per VM. Needless to say, I want to know what is going on with GoofyxGrid and I am concerned that my time may have been spent almost in vain.

hi gridcomputercenter,
hi admins of GCC,

i think all the people in this board would appreciate a short info or statement to the status of the project. you are loosing prestige and this will lead to a loss of volunteers.

kind regards

Projects come. Projects go.

You want stability, stick with the big projects like SETI and Einstein.

Does it suck with the admins go seemingly incognito. Yeah, but that's life.

Projects come. Projects go.

It's been like that for 20 years and it'll be like that 20 years from now still.

It's a crap shoot. Even SETI or Einstein could be dead any day. No funding, the admins die, the labs catch fire, your project admins tell the owners STFU, someone decides to operate a backhoe in the middle of the night to steal copper and truncates the fiber optic line going up the hill....

My laptop, their droids, your blade servers... they could all be sitting idle one morning with timeout timers filling the screen... and what can we do about it? Nothing. It's all volunteer computing. All the time and resources we invest could be for naught and it won't matter who has the bigger pe...err, server or what not.

The only thing that lasts is the community which is a dynamic thing. We can learn from it, or we can go calling each other out which doesn't do a thing except annoy the crap out of everyone else.

I agree, it sucks when admins seemingly or actually disappear. Sometimes the disappearance is justified and sometimes who knows. Even if the projects were run by robots, we'd probably still be ranting where the humans to fix the robots that we wanted so there was always a response available. ;)

That's my two cents worth of thoughts... take it, leave it, ignore it... *shrug*
