Ok:
- cpu.goofyxgridathome.net
- nci.goofyxgridathome.net
is started...
Now it's time to seting up both.
I am importing apps and users.

So will it mean that I need to configure all my VMs again to point them to nci.goofyxgridathome.net?

1. create accaunt on nci.goofyxgridathome.net
2. yes, you can join to nci now <- don't delete goofyxgridathome.net yet.
I need time to setting up new projets.

All of my PCs defaulted to CPU intensive tasks.
Why not keep nci as default and let people add cpu tasks if they want?

The tasks are showing a CPU intensive but at least for me, it's still being NCI. It is just occupying one slot in BOINC and runs as if it were a normal intensive task but it's not

nci.goofyxgridathome.net does not support Windows 32 or 64

I notice that now, but it is still hogging threads and preventing CPU tasks from other projects from running.

A BOINC manager notice would have been nice, instead of it automatically reserving cores for nci tasks with no explanation.

Yes, NCI should be the default.

Setting Goofy to no new work until this gets fixed.

I am doing the same until it is fixed. Or could an app_config file fix this?

I had been trying to figure out why my projects stopped getting work today on some of my computers. I see no reason a task that is nci should reserve an entire thread by default.

Looks like it's windows only problem right now. Linux hosts are OK.

Even after you've joined the new GoofyxGrid@Home NCI: and GoofyxGrid@Home CPU: projects the net result is nothing...

The new cpu.goofyxgridathome.net...has zero work
and
The new nci.goofyxgrid@Homegives this response...

GoofyxGrid@Home NCI: Notice from server
This project doesn't support computers of type windows_x86_64

Sooo you must stick with the original project & get NCI tasks that act as full CPU intensive tasks that steal resources from other projects, or do what others have done suspend work until somethings is done. Some good options there?

There are no apps yet for nci.goofyxgridathome.net.
Server is not configured yet as you can see if you look at server status page and applications page.
Little more patience!

Actually, no, no more patience. Turned off goofyxgrid.

This is not the first time that we have been afflicted with full cpu units without warning, units that I have absolutely no desire for.

You could do an app_config along the lines of this.

<app_config> <app_version> <app_name>monkeys_v1</app_name> <avg_ncpus>0.000001</avg_ncpus> </app_version> <app_version> <app_name>monkeys_v2</app_name> <avg_ncpus>0.000001</avg_ncpus> </app_version> <app_version> <app_name>monkeys_v3</app_name> <avg_ncpus>0.000001</avg_ncpus> </app_version> <app_version> <app_name>monkeys_v4</app_name> <avg_ncpus>0.000001</avg_ncpus> </app_version> </app_config>

Ha, I just came here to post my own version. I only had to use this on the main BM that runs actual CPU projects. The other BM instances are running fine atm.

<app_config> <app> <name>monkeys_v1</name> <avg_ncpus>0.1</avg_ncpus> </app> <app> <name>monkeys_v2</name> <avg_ncpus>0.1</avg_ncpus> </app> <app> <name>monkeys_v3</name> <avg_ncpus>0.1</avg_ncpus> </app> <app> <name>monkeys_v4</name> <avg_ncpus>0.1</avg_ncpus> </app> </app_config>

No linux tasks on either of my computers. RPi2 is also empty. Just Win7.

@ HAL9000: Not the fix many are looking for, but it is a clever work around non the less. +1

Changing the nature of a project without any warning or notice: Not Cool.

Everybody is going to get screwed up now that the WUs are not NCI.

Interestingly, if you pause Goofy and then start back up, they run just fine like they are NCI.
