Did I miss an announcement? The server has run dry for both applications (Monkey v1 and v2).\r\n\r\nConan

Not surprising really as people are adding thousands of virtual machines or running multiple instances of Boinc.\r\n\r\nPete

\r\n\r\nThis happens when a project asks for ways to get more resources and has also removed most of the original posts where it discussed its stance on VM's...\r\n\r\nRight now, there are no official documented rules on VM's or multiple instances nor what is considered "fair use". So, alleging that people are playing unfair when there are no rules posted to begin with is just childish of volunteers. (not saying that you did this but others have) Banning accounts should only take place when the rules are clearly spelled out. \r\n\r\nQuite frankly, since the project cannot feasibly control this behavior without a lot of admin overhead and unproven methods, it would be better to severely cripple the amount of points awarded per work unit. Only a few seem to be running it for the points and some of them are doing it for challenge status at formula-boinc. A few are doing it for run time towards a WUProp badge. Most seem upset because of the points/RAC people are getting. So, the people doing it for the "science" will do it regardless. The people doing it for run time will do it regardless. The people doing it for points will be on a more "fair" playing field. Just my thought on the matter.

A few are doing it for run time towards a WUProp badge..

Cheating to ramp up your WUProp time is pretty pointless. It doesn't take that many hosts to get to 10k hours and the maximum color is 100k. I'll be clocking 10k on v3 and v4 this month and i'm not loaded with VMs.

I have one VM: a linux version that runs on my Win machine when i need linux hours. In this case it's one or the other.

I never said that I want to ramp up time in Wu-prop <- at this moment I would like to procceed as many my wu as possible.
I have 3 VM attached to my goofyxgrid but not to Wu-prop

Pretty much all applications are out of work, v1, v2, v3, v4.

Is it all in preparation for v1 L7 app?

The monkeys have gone being on strike to full on riot... not only do we have rotting banana peels and feces, we got division by zero now!

SOMEBODY just had to go talking openly about the L7 project and now we got mass monkey hysteria...

The riot gear is stored over there, you guys that JUST HAD TO go blabbing about it in the open, you go in there and get things settled down.
